Comprehensive guide to parts, forums & other links
on: March 08, 2015, 02:16:39 AM
Gents (and Ladies), I'm putting together a comprehensive database of all the 1/24, 1/25 (and if enough people ask for it, 1/50) websites.

This database will be in MS Excel format available for download / sharing with websites added as hyperlinks. So far I'm looking at tabs (pages) for each of the following:
Aftermarket Parts
Kit suppliers (those that don't deal with the previous category)
Tools & Materials
Reference Sites
Forums

Details on each of these tabs will be broken down to include
Company name
Product type (ie: military, construction, trucks, fire/police etc)
Primary scale
Website link (hyperlinked so you can just click on it)
Website base country
Website language (I might need some help with this as google translate doesn't always detect the right one)

I'd like to extend an invitation to all of you to please email me at ryan_waldram@hotmail.com and send me the links that you may have saved as favorites (just send me the link, i'll jump onto the site and find the rest of the information that I require to fill out each respective section).

If you have anything that you'd like to contribute to this database it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any sites that you have found useful (printable miniatures, 'architectural model supplies', LED/Fibre optic lights etc) send them to me also.

This won't be a list that will appear overnight, especially if you all help out and contribute, but I am aiming to have it done within 8 weeks and published on all the forums that I'm a member of.

It'd be so much easier if they just made kit's of this thing.

Who said anything about keeping it updated... it just need to be correct at the date of publishing

Thanks for that link, unfortunately, like so many other websites, it hasn't been maintained either... I clicked on 8 random links and 7 of them were no longer working (sites had closed down).

It was this sort of thing that prompted me to want to do something like this. If we can at least work out what sites don't work and get a decent list of sites that are working at this point in time, then we're all going to benefit.

It'd be so much easier if they just made kit's of this thing.
