hi all

tommorow at  gypsies green south shields the finishing point of the tyne tees road run the lads from tyneside and durham model club will be displaying our models. i know its a bit short notice but hopefully some of you will be able to make it along.

The vehicle run used to be on the same weekend as the South Shields model show, we used to stay at Lizard's Lane Caravan Park and drive down for the end of the run.

I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on a memory stick somewhere!

met and had a quick chat with v8alan73 and another couple of members of the Tyneside and Durham model club. it was good to put another face to a name. (didn't buy me a brew tho)  :o
i got some pics of wagons they have built but i forgot who built what  ::) so i am sure Alan will put us right. in fact you might even recognise some of them

G&S volvo and the Cook Merc are my faves, though to be fair there ain't a bad model in sight!

Nice to see the older fire engines too-out of interest the Dennis turntable, is that around late 80's early 90's?

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooo cheers Steve, 1950's Dennis F8 Derbyshire Fire Service, I think that served north of the county, not seen it for years. The AEC Merryweather 100' ladder is similar to the vehicle I trained on way back in 1974 in Liverpool, ah memories. The instructor used to extend the ladder fully and then train it over the bone yard next to the training centre, he had an interesting sense of humoiur.

hi steve

i pleased you enjoyed yourself yesterday i'll have to get you a brew next time lol. it was great to be able to show  my models alongside the others yesterday so i will put some names to models for you. the aussie spec atki and the 6x4 f88 were done by tony ( whos second name i cant remember ) he was the guy standing on my right when we were taking yesterday. the elddis,siddle,whitfield and the tug were done by andy bell. and finally the g&s, 4x2 f88, brs bedford,  10x4 terberg/fm and the big blue 1-14th scale scania were my models.
