Reg when I was shunting in my early days my truck was, it was washed every Saturday morning and polished every other day when it got back from the trip and if the windows weren't spotless on the night time the trunker would give me a right bo*=#king but the motor always drew comments how nice it looked, we had a Foden FE-48 and some time later when the trunker was on holiday I drove that lorry from Tafford park to London fully loaded in four and a half hours using the A5 as we had no motorways in those days

Ted
I must admit that the trunkers were clean and tidy vehicles, many of the drivers wearing a suit with collar and tie, the ones I was referring to were the semi local and the 'trampers'.
