Model Kraft, Milton Keynes - February 5th
on: January 29, 2012, 03:04:04 PM
February 5th 2012 - Model Kraft 2012
Venue: Stantonbury Leisure Centre, Milton Keynes, MK14 6BN. Presented by Milton Keynes Scale Model Club, This show is now in its 12th year and getting stronger and stronger with every year. As always there will be a competition with categories to satisfy just about all modelling styles and tastes. The entry fee is only £1 per entry and kids enter for free! The competition gained a strong international feel last year with entries from both Eastern and Western Europe. Open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission: Adults £4, Seniors £2, Children Free

I'll be at this one with the 'Beyond the Box' SIG. We'll have a few silly builds as usual and a couple of in progress builds and also a couple of conversions for the Emhar Bedford including the WWII 'Armadillo' airfield defence vehicle.

All the IPMS regional and the Internation shows where known are featured on the events section of IPMS (UK) web site: http://ipmsuk.co.uk/events.php

I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on a memory stick somewhere!

Folks, I need your assistance. One of the members of the 'Beyond the Box' SIG I was due to attend the show with has had a nasty fall and will not be able to attend the show. Unfortunately, he has most of the exhibits with him at home and if I can't get to pick up his models the table will be rather bare at the show. If you're attending the show, please bring something with you for display if you can, there will be space on the table for whatever you can bring and we we may be able to do a bit of PR for the Forum at the same time.

Blimey Nick thats sad for your mate...I'll bet he's gutted he's going to miss the show.

I'd love to help mate but, I've only really got the Mercedes I took to Gaydon last year thats anything like good enough (or finished for that matter :embarrassed:) to display. I wasn't planning on staying all day either as I've got other commitments in the afternoon...

TC Trans would be your best bet if he's available. He's got some great truck/trailer combo's that would fill the table up. Maybe e-mail him or hope he see's your post.

I want to speak to you tomorrow about something anyway, so I will make my presence known to you......Custard cream?

Joe.

I'm glad I decided to make the trip down the motorway, excellent show although a little short on visitor numbers but that's to be expected given the weather conditions. Ted Taylor was at the show just as a visitor, he came over and sat with us for half an hour or so and I asked if we could use his old articles from Scale Models International, not a problem. Unfortunately I didn't have Fatty's Bedford conversions on display but I did have one of my mate Ian Sadler's conversions. This is the 'Armadillo' airfield defence vehicle ...

... Ian used 3 of Howard's 1/24 rifles, they're white metal and I have a build coming up at the end of the year where I'll need a couple, more on that at a later date. I also had a couple of my own builds on display, the Opel Blitz ...

... the Iveco junker ...

... and the in-progress 'Beyond the Box' Caravan Bike build ...

I've booked my space again next year, maybe the 1/24th Model Truck Forum would consider booking a table and getting some exposure for truck modellers?

I decided to make the trip down all though snow was playing hell with the roads. Got held with on the M1 with a truck that had jack knifed and gone into the trees ( hope he was ok)

I made a promiss not to buy any kits and managed to do just that even though i was tempted until the joker told me his asking price.

As it was a last minute decision to make the trip down  id dint get a chance to post on here so i wasnt able to put names to faces. Maybe next time
