Rempstone Steam Gala
on: June 25, 2011, 10:33:02 AM
Rempstone Steam Gala, July 9th / 10th. I'll have the Dennis SS and the Dennis Rapier on the field topping up the steamers and providing fire cover. Usually lots of trucks on show and of course the smell of steam and smoke ... I'll try and bottle some, anyone want any? http://www.rempstonesteam.org/

I haven't lost my mind, it's backed up on a memory stick somewhere!

They're not mine Tony but I do get to play with them from time to time. Here's the Dennis SS ex Essex Rescue Pump ...

... and 'Belle' the Bedford ... spent 20 odd years in a museum after working at Avon Tyres as a factory pump for many years ...

Apart from fuelling the steamers, I'm always on the lookout for unusual or interesting pictures. I love this ...

Dennis Rapier ...

... superb tool, I've actually driven that in anger and a couple of her sisters. These are now in preservation, I remember them coming into the fleet, starting to feel really old.

Caravan sorted, provisions loaded (beer cooling in the fridge), just the ironing of a few essentials to do then I'm ready to roll. Not taking the laptop, having an Internet free weekend. The truck is greased and oiled, washed and polished ...

... I'm suitably equipped and all ready to play. Be nice whilst I'm away and i'll be back Sunday evening.

Wish we had shows like that over here  I guess there is not enough interest or the population is so spread out. I am going to have to save my pennies and head up that way one year and spend the entire summer visiting Steam, trucking and aircraft shows
Any one want to be my guide and camera assistant?

Keep smiling and one day life will get tired of upsetting you!!
