Ayup Gareth, you should have sat down for a natter and sampled the custard creams. We passed that truck about 0930 between M1 junctions 15 and 14 southbound, the traffic boys were just setting out the cones. As for truck kits, there were several for sale downstairs, 'Collectakit' had the best choice and his prices were a little on the high side but certainly better than the shark at 'Kit Krazy' in the corner of the hall, his prices started at £50 for something that everyone else sells at £35. Not a bad show, pity some of the clubs didn't turn up and the visitor numbers were down.
We wasnt far behind at that time ( in a bright blue wallace and gromit sky van lol) The CMG american wrecker was just about to pull it out when we went by.
Yeah collectakit had a couple of nice kits at reasonable prices, decent guy was speaking to him at telford. I was intrested in the zz top eliminator he had for sale but talked myself out of it as i have large repair bill for my car lol
The guy at kit krazy was who i was reffering to, I was intrested in the scania 144l heavy truck until i found the price of £50, even with his 25% off it was still over priced.
Though he does not seem bothered by it as i over heard him when i was at hannants and he was saying like now he gets slated on forums etc because of his prices but his attitude was " I have to make a profit" theres making a profit then theres just an out right rip off in my opinion.
Me and my mate was asked if we wanted to do some judging but i passed on on the offer as it was the planes and milatry ect and as its not intrest of mine i wouldnt have a clue what i would be looking for etc.
I spent best part of an hour watching the airbrush demo up stairs. Again manily aimed at plane modelers but was very intresting and picked up a few useful tips that would work for other modeling intrests etc.
Shame the weather but alot of people off as i think there would have been alot more there.
If anyones going to east midlands show at hinckley next month i will try and attend that if i am not working.
