A great set of picture's Mixxy. They capture the buzz and the atmosphere beautifully.
I had a great time looking at the vast array of superb models on display, and spent a small fortune too.

and not forgetting congratulations to the guys who won trophies :bravo:
-
As a paying punter I would just like to add my congratulations to all involved, for another well organised and presented show :bravo: I've helped organise and run model railway shows in the past so know only to well the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make a great show.  :dance2: :wow: Once again the standard and variety of models and scales on display was excellent, and how friendly and approachable everyone was, happy to field questions and to bashfully bask in praise at their efforts :shucks:
so all in all WELL DONE
-
Can I just say a big thank you to Steve for allowing me back on the forum tables again, Andrew for once again sorting out the paperwork and passes and everyone else for making the weekend as good as it was. There was some excellent models to be seen and new friends to be made, along with the usual friendly banter between members ( you know who I mean 😁). But the biggest thanks must go to Ash for once again a magnificent show. And congratulations to all the trophy winners. Roll on next year 👍
-
Neil's, Tony's and Mick's trophies
-
Well done on the trophy's chaps.
They're well deserved judging by the superb models I saw yesterday.
-
Great to catch up with all the guys I only ever see once a year. Congrats to all the trophy takers, big thanks, not only to Ash but to his little army of helpers (Ian, Mark, Paul, Jack, Robert etc ) who put out the tables, sort the car parking, and then take all the tables down again!
I really enjoyed myself this year, shame the weather wasn't better but hey ho.
-
PS...forgot to mention, Kim took over 500 pictures at Gaydon. They will all be added to the truckmodelarchive site over the next few weeks.

After traveling for 10 hours, I was back at home Monday night still enjoying a great weekend. Special thanks to Ashley and his team for the excellent organization of the model show and to the judges, who had the difficult task to choose the winners out of al these beautiful models which were exhibited.
Unnecessary to say that I was very pleased with the awards and very honored (and pleasantly surprised) that the Ginaf X6 won the award for Best in show.
Thanks to everyone for this great weekend and hopefully see you all next year.

Hi all, would really love to see some pictures if there's any available at all,
Cheers stew.

There will be around 500 on the truckmodelarchive site shortly
-
Thank you Ashley for a brilliant week end, God willing I will be back next year, well chuffed with the two awards I got for my models, I am now getting quite a collection. Glad to say that I will be putting on a different display next year , recon folks are getting fed up with seeing my Diamond T's. See you all next year, and some of you at other shows around the area.

Great thank you Peter, quite excited now!
Cheers stew.

Hi Peter, I can't seem to be able to find the album from this years show, do you need to be a registered user on the site to access them?
Sorry to mither ,
thanks Stew.

Stew
They aren't in a dedicated Gaydon album, we've added them to the appropriate truck make albums (eg DAF etc). If you look at the list of albums down the left hand side there are markers showing which ones have new additions. So far Kim has added all the pictures he took on the Saturday, the Sunday ones are still to come.
PM me if you need any help.
-
Ah! Thank you Peter! That would explain it 😄! Going to go and have a good look now, many thanks for your help.
Thanks, Stew
-
Wow! Some fantastic builds there Peter, can't believe the quality of the MAN 8 legger tipper! Superb.
I'm quite surprised there hasn't been much chat about the show, I read somewhere else that there was an instance of a 'visitor' taking more than a shine to some of the models on display? Not the kind of thing you want to happen, but it seems to occur at a variety of static events I'm afraid.
Looking forward to seeing Sunday's pictures soon!
Thanks again,
Stew.

just updated the home page with this years winners list

Eagle-eyed Ashley saw this guy acting suspiciously around the CTM stand. As soon as he clocked us watching him he moved off, Ash got Security to accost him and he admitted stealing some photoetch stuff.
He was escorted off the site and banned from coming back.
I've seen him around at other shows. It pays to be vigilant.
-
the guy was being watched by a number of us at Gaydon who had suspicions about him but could not prove anything. if i had caught him he would have been escorted off the site by a couple of ambulance men
never mind it didn't spoil the weekend and we cannot let people like that put us off
-
If he was seen actually stealing, why were the police not called?
-
SCUMBAG,I,m with you steve, Capital Punishment,Chuck him to Wolfie,he would have devoured him
-
If he was seen actually stealing, why were the police not called?
Because it's "private property", the Police won't attend unless a formal request is made.
It was a quick and easy process to "eject" the man. His photo was sent around the Gaydon staff and it will be kept on record for further events at Gaydon.
-
On a personal note;
THANK YOU to everyone who exhibited and also to all the folk who came to have a look around.
If you were inspired and fancy exhibiting yourself next year, then PLEASE do get in touch with me. You will be more than welcome to join us.
There is no standard at Gaydon, hence the title "Gaydon Model Truck Festival".
First and foremost its a fun weekend to show off your models and chat amongst friends. There is a great friendly atmosphere..........until 3.30pm on Sunday when I read out the competition results. It's very entertaining looking out from my vantage point, seeing many finger nails being bitten
Thanks again folks. See you all next year !
-
Dodgy Geezers them lot  ,
more than enough for an entire episode of crimewatch

Might be a good idea to let a chosen few trustworthy modellers know of his identity too? From what I gather one or two will recognise him anyway but another few pairs of eyes can't hurt!
-
i managed to get a photo of him Andy
