Excellent first day today, chatting with Pete Waterman, what a really nice bloke he is. Spent loads more than I intended, well, that's a little fib I suppose, I bought a couple of sheets of Evergreen siding for the 'Camping and Caravan' project, a grand total of £7.50. Final day tomowwow and time for a good walk around the show.

If you see him today, ask him why he painted Flying Scotsman that shade of green......then stand well back

Were there other model displays (non railway) besides yours Nick?

He's only usually there on the Saturday.

No, we're the only non-railway display. We've been invited back to the show for over 5 years now, maybe we're providing something different as a balance to the railway layouts and traders. We usually have a couple of models based on a rail theme, mainly the 'Trumpeter' range of 1/35 military rail cars, next year I'm planning a special build using an Academy 1/16 Ford Model T, I managed to get a bit of information this weekend I've been looking for.

I managed to do a spot of work on the 'Camperbike' today, I've built the 'A' frame for the tow bar ...

... just as I began building the 'A' frame, a biker who builds trikes asked what I was building. He then offered a few hints and tips about how the frame would be built ... talk about the right bloke at the right time!
