Here's your opportunity to show off your creations to the public. I've been asked to attend the South Shields Model Show on June 3rd, to be held at the Temple Park Leisure Centre, South Shields NE34 8QN. However, I don't have enough built models to fill a display and wondered if the members of this forum would like to put together a display?
I need to know if there is interest from the members of this forum ASAP so as to formerly book the display space in the name of the 1/24th Scale Model Truck Forum. So, if you would be interested in attending the show as part of a display, please post your responses on this thread ...
-
well i will be there but anyone else wanting to display don't let that put you off
-
its the same day as the tyne tees road run as well so i will be able to pop along for an hour or so just as a visitor though.

OK folks, I have 12' double depth of display space to fill and I really need commitment. If you're attending the Tyne - Tees run, why not drop off a couple of models at the show, they'll be quite safe. I'll bring what I can and be the custodian for the day, so who is displaying?
-
i don't have much to show :embarrassed: but i will be there
-
I,ll drop a couple of if you want Nick. I don,t know where it is so I will have to wait of Alan to find it. Tony.

so not to hijack the tyre thread
What I'm hoping to do is have a selection of castings for a display, any chance of bringing your figures Andrew? ... Steve, maybe you could bring a Beaver kit and some of your other stuff? Anyone else attending who has been dabbling with casting, please bring something with you, this could be your chance to show your work to the modelling public.
yes i will bring some stuff down, not happy at showing my beaver to all insundry tho :embarrassed:
-
As mentioned in tyre thread I,ll bring some bit,s along I,m playing with as I,m around the TT run. Plus I,ll bring some other tyre type,s around Steve as you might be interested in them Personaly I think they need to be narrowed for older trucks but they are all around the 46-47 mm hight aria with diferent tread type,s most offhighway. But I do have a pair of lowloader type double,s with rubber tyre,s and metal rim,s wich could be use full to us. So it,s all realy down to wether there,s a use by folk,s for them all I can do is bring them along and find out. As there is not much point in me making a mould unless I realy want them. But the size may be perfect for a tanker midlift wheel with the center rim altered so the option for that,s there too.
-
bring them along Tony lets have a look :cheesy:
-
OK Folks, just to remind you that we have table space at this show and If you're in the area, please consider bringing something for the table. The 1:1 stuff is arriving further down the road for the Tees run, so even more reason to pop over to the venue and say hello!
Steve, can you tie a knot in something and remember my rear air cylinders for the Beaver plaease?

-
what time do you want us there nick?
alan
-
There,s some cracking old HGV,s and the like get there so there is all the more reason to have a pop down 99% of the turnout at the Tyne Tees run is 50,s-60,s era upto the early 80,s just to give a idea of what will be there. Plus there will be a small marque with some models on display. Me, Alan, Hopfully Andy Bell and some of the lad,s from Durham model club will be there. I just hope the weather will be the same as now  sun cracking the deck and all. Hope to meet some new and old freind,s alike. Tony.
-
what time do you want us there nick?
alan
I'm hoping to be in the area the night before, but failing that I'll be travelling up on the day. If so, I won't be there until about 0900, so any time after that will be fine.

Oh no they wern't, bloody bone idle you were, sat there eating biscuits all day! ...
-
where did did they come from
-
Bisqits  we never got a cup o tea and we had to put up with going back to the Tyne Tees and listen to a bus driver moaning on and take 3/4 of a hour to put his kit,s away. Think we should start setting up at 7 in the morning next year as all he did when me Alan and Andrew started erecting the tent was Yap Yap Yap. I thought my bloody ears were going to bleed.
-
Should have spent the day with us then, Steve even bought a coffee ...
-
oooohhhhh set the precedent for Gaydon then, drinks on the boss!!
-
So, is anyone going to post any pics or are yall going to bitch about other people there?
Just kidding. Sounds like yall had a great time. I would have loved to been there.
-
Models from the Tyne Tees Run show, same old same old on the whole I'm afraid! Though housed in a slightly redesigned tent as we made a balls of putting it up  Worked better in the end though, a happy accident!
