I blame Gordon
Since Gordon sent me some photos of equipment at Threlkeld museum in Cumbria, I have wanted to visit. Having talked to Steve, he is up for it too and I think a few others on here may be interested in the equipment they have around the site.

So if anyone wants to join us, we are aiming to visit on Saturday 14th April.
If Gordon reads this he may be able to tell us what to expect and what to wear!!

OK I hope to see you there on the 14th
Its the Lake District in April, think wet & muddy ..... Anorak !, stout shoes/boots, change of clothing ............. facilites are pretty basic so sanwiches/flask
We will be taking down engine numbers next !!
I was there in September, its was warm & dry .... but I was lucky
Some shots of what its like, think slightly organised scrapyard in no particular order
Outer quarry /car park .............. cranes
Small bit of inner quarry
Couple of shots the variety of type of machinery you will fall over

I'll get a nose bleed going that far north
Seriously would have been nice to go but, I've got a long day on the Sunday, driving a load of oldies from Coventry to West Wales Museum of Childhood, great place run by three freinds of mine.

I have a feeling it'll be like an episode from 'Last of the Summer Wine' ...

Who's gonna be Nora Batty
I'm visiting 'somewhere' tomorrow which will be of interest to those with an interest in old Heavy Haulage (Diamond T? Rotinoff etc) and also plant (RB22, Priestman Wolf, Cat dozers ) etc. I will be taking lots of photos and measurements, in particular of a couple of 4 - in - line lowloaders they have but once I have checked it out, it will possibly be the next place up for a group visit if anyone would be interested......

oh wow, 2 of them, it would be worth the trip just to see them, and looking in fine fettle too, i think that Parnabys one was featured in an old edition of SUPERTRUCK several years ago.
thanks for posting them Andrew, any other photo,s would be appreciated
-
Ok, this is my fault but as this visit was down to the 3 of us, I suggested to Gordon and Steve that we may prefer to go to the Classictracks and trucks place near York instead of Threlkeld and they have agreed to a venue change.
So if there are any interested parties, see this thread....
