Ok, it's that time again. Here are the scans of the entry forms for those displaying with us.
The entries HAVE to be in by 1st of April so again, I am aiming for a cut off a week before so all entries to be with me by Sunday 25th March.
Obviously the 'club' will be there both days but if you can only attend one day, it would still be great to see you, plus we can rotate models of course. I have asked for the same 5 tables we had last year and Adhley said he would do his best, plus keep us in mind if there are 1 or 2 extras but the show is gaining in popularity each year so we will have to see what he can do.
If you wish to display models you will need to give me your car registration number so a pass can be given. You cannot get into the grounds without one but again, total number of passes for the model show is restricted and while Ashley will again do his best, it will be on a first come first served basis for the club.
For accomodation at the Hotel or camping, please read the forms carefully. You can give Ashley your credit card details directly (needed to guarantee the room, NOT for payment) but if you do, please let me know this is what you are doing and tell Ash you are with the 24thscalemodeltruck 'club'.
Those camping need to send ME a cheque for £20 for a pitch but payable to Ashley Coghill. (covers tent, caravan, motorhome, kennel on a tricycle etc - same price!). This is so that all the information and passes etc are kept together, otherwise someone might be pitching a tent on the hard shoulder of the M40
Competitions - again please read carefully. If you fancy entering the competitions, please have a go. Even if you just enter for a bit of fun, the money goes towards the running of the event and you never know, you might just win (unless you enter the same class as Mixxy, V8Alan, Paul Findon.......). Please note, as it says you can REMOVE entries on the day (if it's not finished or you dropped it on the way ) but you probably won't be able to add them in so IF you think you want a go, let me have the details and get them in!
So, if you are coming with us, add your name and then pm me with the details I need (or if you want you could print off the forms and post them to me?
I'm sure there will be questions....
-
Definately add me as coming Andrew  will pm you the details

Put me down as a definate please Andrew, Will get forms sorted out and sent back asap. I have never shown at Gaydon before, and have only been to Rugby once (in 1995), so do I count as a first timer???
Cheers, Darren

Erm! ... you do realise that the beers are on you don't you, first timers always buy the beers! ...

You say that you can`t get a car into the grounds without a pass. What`s parking going to be like if you`r not exhibiting?

You say that you can`t get a car into the grounds without a pass. What`s parking going to be like if you`r not exhibiting?
The public car park is opposite the site, no parking problem at all. The only time you need to gain entry to the centre by car is for exhibitors to unload / load, for this you need a pass, no problems encountered last year.

However, if you be nice to me, I may find a couple of spare bottles of magners...not promising thou.....

No problem Jim, looking forward to seeing several new faces, hope we have enough chairs, but we can always find a snug corner at the bar ...
-
Nick is correct with the carpark passes. The parking in the field opposite the entrance for visitors is huge but if you want to bring the car into the ground to unload/load models you need a pass which hangs from your rear view mirror. However you also get a wristband which allows YOU into the show for free. Without it you will be charged the normal entrance fee and as I said, Ashley has a fixed number of these for the whole show. I'm sure he will do his best for us but as I said, first come first served.
-
Just checked my diary and providing round 2 of our drag racing championship does not change and im not half to sweden by then i may actually be able to make this show this year. fingers crossed.

Having serious doubts whether Sunday is the better day to visit - regarding purchases, but have decided to stick with it and hope for the best.
(I can always make offers for those things you bought in a hurry on the Saturday and are now having second thoughts about.  ).

Be good to see you there Jim, I don`t intend buying many kits at Gaydon as most of my cash will be used on re-stocking the evergreen used in the transporter build
but best laid plans and all ( as long as i tell the missus it was a bargain i think i could get away with a few for the stash )
Me and the lad will be there for the weekend so hope to get to meet a few of the` forum massive ` and see some great models on show..... just go gentle with me as it`s my first time

Sunday is a good day to go if you want to see the real trucks out front but I normally spend the weekend there and on Saturday I photograph the big stuff as they arrive after having first set up my display in the hall.
I won't be there this year as I am still not strong enough and I only just got out of hospital yesterday

Richard, I don`t know how I`ll recognize you (the usual dark glasses, rolled up financial times and carnation in your buttonhole?) as I`ll have your `skating lady`with me.

Ok, come to send everything out and for some reason I don't have addresses for all of you! ( maybe never had them in the first place or my filing system is crap ).
So please could Darren, Gordon, Joe, Tony and Nick (!) pm me with you addresses and I'll get your passes in the post.
Getting close, hope you are all ready

All bar one posted off (Joe, you out there?) so when you get them DON'T LOSE THEM!
We have 5 tables again so bring plenty of models
Saturday the hall opens from 08.30, I am going to try and be there before that but whoever is first, let Ashley know and find the tables
The hall closes at 5pm prompt and is locked so your stuff is safe in there overnight but you will not be allowed back in after 5!
Sunday also opens at 08.30. Not sure if any of our exhibitors are only there for the Sunday but you must arrive before 09.30 or you may not be allowed in with a vehicle and may be disqualified from the competitions.
Raffle and prize giving starts 15.30 prompt and closes after the ceremony.
There is a note from Ashley asking "as a matter of courtesy please refrain from packing up displays and moving around the hall during the ceremony" . I have put this note on here for those who have not been before, not for any discussion please!
-
I'll be there early evening on Friday so should be in the hall early Saturday. I have a few table coverings as last year so we should be OK. I also have a set of bases so we can raise the height of the display at the back. I'd like us to have some sort of working space near the front so that those who feel comfortable doing so, can sit and chat with the visitors on various topics.
-
I`ll be there around 8.30 on the Saturday ( all been well on the roads ) should be fetching both transporters and a couple of tractor units as well, Is it just finished models wanted or can WIP be brought too ???

WIP's are handy, we can move the display around to suit!
-
I stopping at Leamington Spa on the Friday night so I should be there pretty early on Saturday morning too.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
By the way, if Nick is bringing bases to raise the display height, does that mean that I don't need to bring any now?
-
I should be there about 8.30 too, i have some coverings and a couple of turntables
My models are all units or rigids unless you want my Astran ???
-

I've got 5 and if Fatty brings the other set we should have enough, but if you've got room for them Neil just in case?

Mine are 1000mm by 700mm display boards.
I'll put them in the van and you can have a look and see if they are any good.
They are quite lightweight things so they don't take much transporting anyway.
-
Received passes this morning, many thanks Andrew for sorting them out
Owe you a drink when I see you at Gaydon ( just need to get everything finished now  )
-
Passes and wristbands arrived with me too. Thanks Andrew!!
-
Mine arrived today too
-
Glad they are getting there. I'm afraid if anyone is wondering there are no more passes available. Ashley has a waiting list for cancellations for tables too! Looks like it's getting more and more popular, maybe we should kick the pesky r/c guys out of their room to make more space
