Title: Something old, something rusting ...
Post by: strobe_911 on August 02, 2011, 11:35:35 AM
For those of you with a Facebook account, a love of British automotive history and an urge to view the work of the ferrous beetle on the best Britain ever produced, poor yourself a coffee (or perhaps a stiff drink), have a pack of Kleenex handy and sift through this site: https://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=6015764254 (https://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=6015764254) It's mostly cars and vans but there are several trucks to be found in the 5000+ pictures on the site.

I've archived those pics, lots of lovely weathering ideas in there. I got bored going forwards and seeing loads of cars so I started from the back, more trucks there ...   ... and I found some transits for Neil ...

I too (rightly or wrongly) steer clear of it. I don`t fancy all those `friends`(??) wanting to get in touch.

Facebook is a tool to be used like any other, there are several sites like the one I posted which are very useful. I have a list of people who I allow to see my information, if you're not on the list you can't see the information. I share some information with family and friends but my Facebook page is not open, it's closed to everyone except those on the list. Agreed it's not for everyone, but then I don't like Marmite, it's all about choices and personal preference.

No I don't Colin, it's horrible and what makes it worse, they make the stuff at a factory in Burton upon Trent which is just 7 miles down the road from me along the A38. I travel that road on a daily basis and the smell is revolting ... Yeuk! I believe you have your own version ... Vegemite?

Yep Vegemite was what us Kiwi's are bought up on, just look at the All blacks :cheesy:
Much better than Marmite, but if Vegemite was not available, well there is only one alternative
